greetings, traveler!

Hi!
You’re receiving this because sometime in the past few months you filled out one of our cosplay surveys or signed up through our website, where you could leave your contact details - including your email address.
This newsletter is our way of updating you on our progress in creating a dedicated social media platform for cosplay - cos.place!
If this is the first newsletter you see, you can catch up with our previous issues by clicking here.

If you’d like to opt out of getting further updates related to our work on cos.place, you can unsubscribe by clicking here.

Here’s what’s happened since our last issue:

  • We’ve received an incredible amount of positive feedback from you all, and our social media accounts have garnered a total of almost 100 followers. We’re truly thankful for such a warm welcome! 💜
  • We’ve seen 10 new people signing up for our newsletter; welcome aboard!
  • We’ve had the pleasure to participate in two meetings to discuss and inspect our long-term goals in terms of maintaining the platform. We’re happy to say that we received some very optimistic reviews, which means we’re now ready to start securing funding for cos.place!
  • Cosmo asked us to thank you for all of your incredible fanart! 🌟

Needle in a haystack...

Think back to the last time you lost sleep over the search for the perfect wig.
When not one friend, nor anyone from any cosplay group you’re in, seemed to have anything similar. So you go treasure hunting, pull some all-nighters searching each and every possible online shop there is, and then...! You find one that’s close enough...
Not the one you’re looking for, but maybe your expectations were a bit too high.
You place the order, you pay for it, wait a couple of days for it to arrive. Now it’s time to style it! You put it on the mannequin head, grab your trusty pair of scissors and only then do you remember to look on That-One-Website-That-You-Haven’t-Checked-Yet™...

We’re terribly sorry for reminding you of that trauma, but we needed to set the mood.

...and we’ve got a magnet!

Now imagine saving yourself all that time, stress, and money if it were all in one place. That’s our goal - to help cosplayers in their daily struggles.
One way we plan to achieve this is by creating a dedicated marketplace for all things cosplay.

We plan to include these and many other features in our little cosplay market:

  • Ability to buy firsthand products (e.g. outfits, accessories, wigs, etc.), both from established brands as well as independent artists.
  • Ability to buy and sell secondhand products.
  • Ability to buy and offer services related to cosplay - photography, retouching, custom props, etc.
  • Ability to book locations for photo and video shoots.
  • Verification system for sellers and listings.
  • Strict report system.
  • Buyer protection program.
  • Full integration with content feed, to see listed items and services in use.
  • Rating and reviews for sellers and listings.
  • Ability to pay using deferred payments.

We’ve tried to adapt as best as we can to the realities of the cosplay community, but if you feel something is missing, we’d love to hear any and all advice and feedback!

what’s next?

Full steam ahead! First posts have appeared on our social media and many more are on their way. You can find links to our social media profiles below and on our website!

Just as a reminder - you’ll have a chance to come across our visiting cards during the Remcon festival (Feb 13-15)! They will redirect new faces to our newsletter and allow them to access the early access version of our site. Make sure to let us know, if you come across one of them!

After many months of preparations we’re finally ready to go and work hard to secure funding for cos.place.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!
